Associate Pastor
Tim grew up in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, and jokingly refers to himself as a quintessential middle child. Over the course of growing up, Tim’s family brought in 24 children from distressed situations through the ministry of foster care. In many ways, this experience of service, love, and chaos inspired both Tim and his (only) brother Gregory to serve in ordained ministry.
Tim Sharpe joined the staff at Christ Our Hope in 2010. In 2013, Tim and Chrissy were married with many COH’ers in attendance. In July 2015, the Sharpe’s welcomed their son Brayden, who is a joy to his parents and grandparents’ lives. The Sharpe’s welcomed their daughter Charlotte in April 2017 and were recently blessed to welcome another son, Bennett, in September 2019.
Tim studied music industry and voice at James Madison University, and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando with Masters degrees in Counseling and Divinity. He has served in various churches from fledgling church plants, non-denominational mega-churches, to historic Anglican congregations older than our country. Prior to coming to Christ Our Hope, Tim served as Director of Worship at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg VA, helping them transition from single-site, to dual-site, to planting a daughter congregation.
In both Ephesians and Colossians, Paul reminds Christians to let the Word dwell richly in them through “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.” One of Tim’s ministry passions is to use the tools of music and prayers to encourage God’s people to hear, believe, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Worship is not an event we go to on Sundays, but a daily response to God’s glorious grace.
